The Suffolk Horse Society 2026 Annual General Meeting
Saturday 25th April 2026 at Trinity Park, Felixstowe Road, Ipswich, at 2pm
COUNCIL ELECTIONS
Nominations are invited for election to the Suffolk Horse Society Council at the 2026 AGM.
The Society is both a registered charity and a Company Limited by Guarantee, and a Council member is both a charity trustee and a company director.
The role of a Council member is defined by the Charity Commission of England and Wales, which states:
More about the role and responsibilities of charity trustees can be found at the Charity Commission web site; www.charity-commission.gov.uk
“Charity Trustees are the people who form the governing body of a charity. They are responsible for controlling the management and administration of a charity. They should work together as a team, and have ultimate responsibility for directing the affairs of a charity, ensuring that it is solvent, well-run and delivering charitable outcomes for the benefit of the public for which it has been set up.”
The Suffolk Horse Society Council currently meets seven times a year. In addition, Council members are expected to attend the AGM and certain other events, and also serve on committees, either virtually or in person. Members elected to the Council currently serve for four years before retiring by rotation.
All members whose subscription is up to date are eligible to stand for election.
Completed nomination forms must be received by the office no later than noon on 27th February 2026
