The Suffolk Horse Society will be celebrating its 150th Anniversary in 2027.
This is a remarkable milestone and we hope all Suffolk horse owners, breeders and supporters will help to make it a memorable year.
The Suffolk horse, a true icon of Suffolk, remains a critically endangered rare breed, and it is thanks to the dedication and devotion of breeders and owners over many years that the breed society is able to celebrate 150 years, and still going strong.
The Suffolk Horse Society is the breed society with responsibility for the management of pedigrees, the promotion of breeding and the preservation of breed purity. Protecting and supporting the interests of the Society’s members is an important part of the work of Suffolk Horse Society.
The Suffolk Horse Society is therefore saddened to learn of the closure of the Suffolk Punch Trust at Hollesley in Suffolk, the oldest commercial stud breeding Suffolks. We wish them well as they embark upon the next chapter in the life of the Colony stud.
Over the coming months we shall be sharing news of events to celebrate our Anniversary, we hope all our members and friends will join in making 2027 a year to remember.
