We wpologise that with effect from Thursday 19th April 2012 until further notice the museum will be closed. This is because exterior painting at the Shire Hall necessitates blocking of the fire exit by scaffolding. We hope that the works will be complete within approximately three weeks.
The SUPREME SUFFOLK HORSE CHAMPIONSHIP
The Society has is pleased to announce a brand new competition associated with entries at affiliated shows.
The competition will be open to any registered Suffolk horse that is eligible for any of the twelve affiliated shows held across the country through the showing season regardless of age or gender.
Automatic qualification will go to the champion of a given show, however if a particular horse has already qualified the reserve horse will become eligible. Should this horse also have already qualified the horse placed third in the championship line up will qualify.
The final competition will held at the Suffolk Spectacular on 2nd September 2012 at the Animal Health Trust in Newmarket and will be judged by a panel of judges on a points system. The judging panel will be comprise two Society panel judges and one other independent recognised and respected judge.

THE SUFFOLK STUD BOOK
Volume 88 of the Suffolk Horse Society Stud Book covering registration year 2011 was published on 21st April 2012 and is available at £6 plus £1.50 for postage & packing. Stud Book volumes 77 to 87 inclusive are also available from the Society’s office at £5 each plus £1.50 for p&p. Back issues of the Stud Book from the 1920s, 30s and 40s are available at £10.00 each. Enquire at the office to ascertain availability of specific years.

Issue Number 87 of the Suffolk Horse Magazine dateline Spring 2012 is now available. Packed with news about Suffolk horses the magazine is sent free to all members and friends of the Society or can be purchased at £5.00 a copy from the SHS trailer at selected shows, from the Suffolk Heavy Horse Museum in Woodbridge, or by post from the office. p&p 50p extra.

Don’t throw away your empty printer cartridges or old mobile phones. The Suffolk Horse Society can use them to raise funds. Why not ask the Society for a supply of Freepost envelopes for your office. (Freepost is only available within the UK) Not only will you be helping the Suffolk horse but you will be reducing the waste that goes to landfill. Please note (i) It is not possible to recycle Epson/Epson compatible cartridges so these cannot be accepted. (ii) We cannot accept laser or toner cartridges.
