Cotswold Farm Park hosts celebration of the Suffolk Punch Horse
June 29 2024 @ 8:30 am - June 30 2024 @ 8:00 pm
Join us at Cotswold Farm Park this 29th and 30th June to celebrate the oldest breed of heavy horse in the UK – the Suffolk Punch. In collaboration with the Suffolk Horse Society, we’re delighted to be hosting a weekend of displays, classes, and parades, with unique stands and stalls and special guests including Adam Henson.
Known often as the Suffolk Punch, the breed dates at least into the sixteenth century but all animals alive today trace their male lines back to one stallion, a horse called Crisp’s Horse of Ufford, who was foaled in 1768.
Appearing against a backdrop of the stunning Cotswolds countryside, the show ring will be lined with equestrian stalls and local businesses. Our on-site Ox Shed restaurant will be serving up their delicious summer menu from 8:30am to 8pm each day, where you can dine on our terrace overlooking the event. Options include hot sandwiches, small plates, burgers and fresh salads, all made in house by our talented kitchen team.
Events on Saturday 29th June include Suffolk Horse in Hand classes, a parade of heavy horses and a ridden display. On Sunday 30th June, guests can enjoy a parade of ‘in hand’ horses, a Young Handlers Demonstration, a driving Horse Competition and a Ridden Display and more. Both days will be concluded by the Suffolk Horse Society’s Vice Patron Lady Clare, Countess of Euston (Lord Lieutenant of Suffolk), who will also present the prizes throughout the weekend.
This event has limited capacity, so booking in advance is highly recommended. Guests are invited to stay with us all weekend at our Cotswold Farm Park Holidays site, where they can choose from a luxury Sunset Lodge, Safari Tent, Camping Pod or a variety of grass and electric pitches. We can also recommend nearby accommodation for horses.
Tickets are available at www.cotswoldfarmpark.co.uk and are priced at £15.00 per adult for Saturday or Sunday, or at a discounted rate of £18.00 for a weekend pass when you book in advance. Children’s tickets are £10.00 for Saturday or Sunday admission and £13.00 for a weekend pass booked in advance. Under 4s go free!
