General Show Grants 2023

SHOW GRANTS:

Show Turnout Grant –  Horses must be forward at shows, not just entered.

The Suffolk Horse Society offers a grant of £75 per horse to members entering turnouts and forward at the qualifying shows listed below:

Essex Heavy Horse and Country Show, Royal Norfolk Show, Suffolk Show, Tendring Hundred Show, Woodbridge Horse Show, London Harness Horse Parade, Devon County Show, New Forest & Hampshire Country Show, Royal Berkshire Show, Royal Cornwall Show, The Orsett Show & The Three Counties Show, Lincolnshire & Derbyshire & Royal Highland Show.

 

To claim this grant all you must fill in an application form and submit it to the office by 1st October 2023.  Grants are paid upon receipt of the form.

 

Harness Class Grant

The Suffolk Horse Society offers a grant of £30 per horse to members entering and forward at either a Decorated Harness or a Working Harness Class at the relevant qualifying shows listed below.

 

Implement Class Grant

The Suffolk Horse Society offers a grant of £30 per horse to members entering and forward at a class using agricultural implements at the relevant qualifying shows listed below:

 

Essex Heavy Horse and Country Show, Hadleigh Show, Nottinghamshire County Show, Royal Norfolk Show, Suffolk Show, South Suffolk Show, Framlingham Show, Tendring Hundred Show, Woodbridge Horse Show, London Harness Horse Parade, Devon County Show, New Forest & Hampshire Country Show, Royal Berkshire Show, Royal Cornwall Show, The Orsett Show & The Three Counties Show, Lincolnshire & Derbyshire & Royal Highlands Show.

 

To claim this grant, please complete an application form and submit it to the office by 1st October 2023.  Grants are paid upon receipt of the form. 

 

Please note – Only one grant paid per horse per show. You are only eligible to claim the grant for the Implement Class if no other class has been entered and forward at the same show.

 

Stallion – Breed Promotion Recognition Award

£50 for each UK registered, licensed, stallion competing in a class at EACH of the following affiliated shows: Woodbridge Show – Suffolk Show – Royal Norfolk Show.

Condition:    1. Only 1 grant per show per stallion.

Condition:    2. Stallion to be licensed for use in the breeding season of the Show.

 

Stallion – Breed Promotion – Show Travel Grant

£1.00 per mile outbound, excluding the first 50 miles, for each UK registered, licenced Suffolk stallion competing in a class at EACH of the following affiliated shows, Woodbridge Show, Suffolk Show or Royal Norfolk Show.

Condition:    1. Only one grant payable per stallion per year.

Condition:    2. Owners wishing to claim a stallion breed promotion recognition award travel grant must write to the Society specifying the name and date of the show and the distance travelled.  Claims must be received by 1st October 2023 at the latest.

Condition:    3. Stallion to be licensed for use in the Breeding Season of the Show.

 

 

Youngstock Show:

The SHS will pay £40 for each horses entered and forward at the annual show in 2023.

 

Foal Show – Grant -Framlingham

The SHS will pay £40 for all horses entered and forward at the annual show in 2023.

 

Young Handlers Championships:

Horses brought forward for the Young Handler Championships will each receive £40 from the Suffolk Horse Society.

Several members have missed out on their grants in previous years due to not submitting their application.
